Christmas: The Long-Term Thought Year Review

Hello together,

it's tight on Christmas Eve and on TV, newspapers, the Internet and of course also in the blogger scene, the time of the annual review begins.

The 10 most unknown Celebrities of the Year, The 10 cutest cat videos of the year or the 10 stocks of the year are always popular topics.

On my side, too, you are not spared and I would like to take this opportunity to look back on the first few months of the site, share my expectations and plans for next year with you and oracle something about the financial markets in 2019.

Review 2018

Chronicle of the website:

  • On 24.02.2018 I secured the domain langfristig-gedacht.de.
  • My idea was to build a page of a former financial newcomer for financial newcomers. Since there were experiences with WordPress, something was quickly clicked together.
  • The first post was published on 26.02. and consisted of little more than "Work in progress"
  • On 06.03. then the basic framework. Theme, tests and information about the investment were online.
  • After that happened first: little, only in May appeared in the blog posts on the topic of robo-advisors and my wikifolios.
  • In June then the flash of spirit: Why not put the results of the Levermann evaluation, which I drive every week for everyone online ? We started with German values, meanwhile US and European values have been added.
  • So far, there have been more than 25 evaluations.
  • That's a lot of work and what can I say: interested almost none. Nevertheless, I stayed with it.
  • At the end of November I contacted Petra von Sparen, invest, be free. And that was so nice to link me directly. On that day my web server almost went to its knees, so many visitors came by. Thank you Petra !
  • Overwhelmed by so much response, I continued to write diligently. About Bond ETF, Christmas, Why I no longer use a robo-advisor and what I think of Blackrock.
  • After all, Felix from the Finanzblogroll also included me in his feed, which I was very pleased about.

From a blog point of view, it was a successful year. From: "1 visitor a week" I was able to get to approx. 30 per day. But what is much more important are the positive comments that have reached me either on the page, but also many times by mail. Thank you very much for that.

What's next for the site in 2019?

  • In 2019, I would like to continue to deliver high-quality items on a regular basis. So I try to finish at least one article per week in addition to the Levermann values.
  • Thematically, I do not specify this, which can be almost anything that is financially relevant from work to train travel.
  • I also remember my statement that the website should be "cost-covering". That's what she was for this year thanks to many of you. So I had the choice now: remove advertising or continue collecting. I chose the latter. However, I will reduce the frequency of banner advertising.
  • As soon as a significant amount has been raised next year, there will be a competition for readers and a donation to a charitable cause.

What do I want for the long-term project?

  • I am happy about links to the website or to contributions from me or just about contacting me about the cooperation.
  • I welcome suggestions for issues or constructive criticism.
  • I am especially happy if you visit the website from time to time, bookmarkt or if I can entertain you, stimulate reflection or inform you.
  • I'm happy about every Twitter follower, comment and banner click.
  • I am happy about disabled adblockers 😉
  • And about reservations or investments in my wikifolios.

What are financial markets doing in 2019?

If I knew that, I would probably have some less worries.

  • Overall, the stock market will certainly continue to be pessimistic in the first half of the year.
  • In the long term, however, we will have an upward trend again.

As a savings plan investor, you don't need to make this any more nervous, but with one-off investments I would probably still be reluctant at the moment.

  • Euro bonds are currently a no-go, and US bonds could be re-accessed.

The glass ball shows me the following values for the end of 2019:

  • DAX: 11500 points
  • NASDAQ 100: 6800 points

Next year we will evaluate that.

What do I wish you?

I wish you a merry and contemplative Christmas and a happy new year.

Always remember: it doesn't matter how much money you have, but what you can achieve with it.

In this sense: Until next year. The Levermann evaluation of 29.12. I will post, but the post will be shorter than usual. The blog then takes a break until 05.01.2019.

What is your tip for the two indices at the end of 2019 ? How did you come across my website ?
